KEF's Iconic Blade Speakers Get a Stylish Makeover
KEF, the renowned British audio brand, has given its flagship Blade Meta floorstanding speakers a stylish upgrade, introducing three bold and high-gloss metallic finishes for 2025. The new color options are Grigio, Garnet, and Sapphire, each offering a unique and striking aesthetic.
Grigio presents a sleek, mid-silver tone, while Garnet is a deep wine red, and Sapphire boasts a rich, glowing blue. These colors feature tone-on-tone Uni-Q drivers, creating a unified and polished look that complements modern furniture and interior design trends.
KEF emphasizes that this update is purely aesthetic, leaving the speakers' acclaimed 12th-generation Uni-Q driver array and Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) untouched. These technologies, introduced in 2022, are renowned for reducing distortion and delivering precise, clean sound across both Blade One Meta and Blade Two Meta models.
The Blade One Meta, KEF's larger model, is equipped with four 225mm force-cancelling bass drivers, ensuring full-range impact in spacious listening environments. The slightly smaller Blade Two Meta features 165mm bass drivers, designed for medium to large rooms while maintaining the brand's signature clarity and immersive soundstage.
Pricing remains unchanged at US$34,999.98 (A$64,750) for the Blade One Meta and US$27,999.98 (A$51,700) for the Blade Two Meta. KEF is also retaining several existing high-gloss finishes, including Piano Black/Copper, Piano Black/Grey, Racing Red/Grey, and Arctic White/Champagne, while discontinuing older matte shades like Frosted Blue/Bronze and Charcoal Grey.
This move reflects a broader trend in high-end audio, where style and sound are equally important. KEF's decision to offer bold metallic finishes follows similar updates from brands like McIntosh, indicating a growing emphasis on aesthetics in premium audio products. KEF has yet to confirm if the refreshed Blade Meta colors will be available in Australia and other regions.
